The Windows Explorer window, show in the example below, is similar to a standard window, with one difference - the Windows Explorer window has two panes (sides). The left pane contains a hierarchical tree that shows all of the drives and folders on your computer.

The Windows Explorer window is divided into two panes. The left one is the Folders pane, the right one is the Files pane. You will see the word "Folders" in the description bar above the Folders pane. You can scroll through one pane without effecting your position in the other pane.
